Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, affirms Sudan’s support for the Great Lakes Organization to achieve its goals

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, affirmed Sudan’s support for the Great Lakes Organization to achieve the goals that serve the stability and development of the countries of the region.

This came during his meeting today in his office with the Executive Secretary of the Great Lakes Organization, Ambassador/Joao Samuel Kahulu. His Excellency provided a comprehensive explanation of the current situation in Sudan and the effects of the war on it, especially the violations committed by the rebel Rapid Support Militia against civilians and public facilities in the country.

For his part, Ambassador Joao Samuel expressed his thanks for the warm reception, indicating that he came to introduce the vision of the Great Lakes Organization and exchange views on the current situation in Sudan. And to encourage the parties to make more efforts to restore security and stability in Sudan.

The Executive Secretary Joao Samuel added that he intends, on behalf of the Great Lakes Organization, to invite the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, to attend the Summit of Heads of State and Government, which will be held in the Angolan capital, Luanda, on November 26.

Samuel Kahulu indicated that his visit to Sudan comes as an expression of the organization’s solidarity with the government and people of Sudan in the challenges they face by observing the reality and standing on what is happening on the ground to restore security and stability.

Regarding the situation in Sudan, the Executive Secretary of the Great Lakes Organization said that the organization participated in the meeting of the Executive Committee of the High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva and expressed the reality in Sudan and the people of Sudan, and asked the international community to help bring peace, solve the problem of the displaced, and contribute to the reconstruction of the country.
